Session 1.3

The Watch, The Mirror, and The Prophecy

After disembarking from the carousel, Acornagorn noticed a commotion at the dragonfly rides—a halfling was in danger of falling from their saddle! At the same time, Acornagorn spotted a kenkou dashing away from the scene.

The party sprang into action, giving chase to the fleeing kenkou. Filbert’s keen eyes kept track of the mischievous creature as it darted around corners and behind tents, finally cornering it behind a tree near the hall of illusions. Confronting the kenkou, named Kettlesteam, the party discovered that she was a warlock with a mischievous streak. Kettlesteam, it turned out, was causing trouble in the hopes of attracting the attention of Witch and Light, individuals who she believed could help her.

Using their powers of persuasion, the adventurers convinced Kettlesteam to undo one of her pranks, restoring Candlefoot’s voice, which she had trapped in a doll. Kettlesteam, now more cooperative, agreed to cease her disruptive activities if the party promised to help her find Zybilna, a figure shrouded in mystery. With Kettlesteam’s mischief under control, the party located Candlefoot and returned his voice. In a joyous moment, Candlefoot proposed to Palasha, who happily accepted.

Meanwhile, Zahala, ever the strategist, approached Candlefoot with a proposition of her own—she needed his help to steal a valuable watch. As the coronation ceremony for the Witchlight monarch commenced, Filbert cleverly used message to communicate with some allies, informing them of the impending heist and rallying their support. With a well-timed distraction from Candlefoot, Zahala expertly swiped the watch, securing it in her pocket just moments before ascending to her new role as Witchlight monarch.

Following the coronation, a parade ensued, but the air of celebration was short-lived. The party encountered Mr. Witch, distraught over the loss of his prized watch. Through skillful negotiation, the party struck a deal with Witch and Light: in exchange for the return of the watch, the powerful duo agreed to help the party reach Prismeer, a realm of wonder and magic. Although the adventurers agreed to return the watch upon their return from Prismeer, they were unaware of a crucial detail—the watch would not be able to make the journey across the planar boundaries.

Venturing into the hall of illusions, the adventurers gazed into the shimmering surfaces of the mirrors. To their astonishment, they saw reflections of their younger selves as children, as well as images of young Witch and Light, who appeared to be Shadur-Kai elves. Within the hall, they learned the incantation needed to activate a magical mirror that had previously been inaccessible to them.

With a mix of excitement and trepidation, Filbert stepped through the mirror, eager to explore what lay beyond. Acornagorn, his face etched with nervousness, attempted a modified version of the incantation, but to no avail. Mustering his courage, and with a reassuring nudge from Zahala, Acornagorn recited the correct incantation and stepped bravely into the mirror’s depths.

Zahala, eager to follow her companions, made a dash for the mirror, but a powerful force stopped her in her tracks—the stolen watch. Reluctantly, Zahala surrendered the watch to Mr. Witch. As she finally passed through the shimmering portal, the words of Witch and Light echoed in her ears: “Mind the Rule of Three: future, present, past. Find the alicorn and free the dormant queen at last”.

Emerging from the mirror, the party found themselves in a completely different environment—a massive stone bridge stretched before them, suspended high above a sprawling swamp. As Acornagorn surveyed their surroundings, he was overcome by a profound sensation—the object he had lost was here, somewhere in this strange and unfamiliar land.
