Curtain Call at Motherhorn
The adventurers created a plan to defeat Endelyn Moongrave. They would use the moon prop with Glister behind it to create a fake eclipse. The adventurers asked the Korreds and Briganocks for help with the battle and then took the elevator up to stage level. When the adventurers peeked out, they saw Endelyn onstage. Stagefright was trying to get Endelyn’s attention, but she wasn’t paying attention to him. The adventurers rolled the moon prop out to the side of the stage, and Glister stood behind it. Filbert whistled to get Endelyn’s attention, and when Endelyn saw Glister behind the moon, she screeched.
The battle started, and the Korreds and Briganocks distracted everyone except for Endelyn. The adventurers fought hard, using all their skills and spells. Filbert used his new lightning ring, Zahala used her Korred hair, and Acornagorn used his summon beast spell. Amidor fought bravely, and the twins used their fighting skills. Nearly all the attacks were successful. Endelyn was defeated for good because she was beaten in front of the eclipse.
After the battle, the adventurers looted Motherhorn. They took bottles of wine and some trinkets, and they also found Filbert’s feather. The adventurers explored the tower room with the wooden ceiling. They read three letters that Endelyn had written. They also learned that lightning bottles could be thrown as weapons, and they took six of them. The adventurers found a mask room and freed all the goblins and creatures trapped in the masks. The twins and the bugbear went back to the Witchlight Carnival, and the adventurers decided to go back to Thither to confront Skabatha.
- After some discussion, you hatched a plan to destroy Endelyn Moongrave: bring the moon prop up to the stage and have Glister stand behind it to simulate an eclipse.
- You called the Korreds and Briganocks who agreed to help with the battle up to fight with you and made your way up the elevator to stage level. Peeking out, you saw Endelyn stealing the show in the middle of the stage. Stagefright was trying to get her attention and failing.
- You rolled the moon out to the side of the stage, Glister stood behind it, and Filbert whistled to Endelyn, who upon seeing the twin behind the moon screeched. The battle began, with the brigganocks and korreds distracting everyone except for Endelyn.
- You fought a hard battle, using all kinds of spells and capabilities: Filbert the new lightning ring, Zahala her Korred hair, and Acornagorn his summon beast spell. In combination with the bravery of Amidor and the prowess of the twins, all of these attacks were successful and Endelyn was defeated—forever now that she was brought low in sight of an eclipse.
- You then proceeded to loot the castle, collecting bottles of wine, finding several trinkets, and discovering Filbert’s feather!
- You explored the tower room with the wooden ceiling, noting that it might be the belfry. There, you read three letters from Endelyn:
- My darling Bav,
Skab had the horn but either lost it or forgot where she hid it. Her head is so full of cobwebs. Imagine what she’ll be like when she’s senile.
Your favorite sister,
End - Dearest Skab,
Mummy’s little warlock spy was happy to betray her companions and reveal that Kelek, Zargash, and the others are conspiring to betray us. But fear not. Their plots will not succeed. Even now, an outside force promises to rid us of the whole stinking lot. What’s important is that the Cauldron remain safe. Let me know how you wish to proceed.
Your beloved sister,
End - Lord Kelek,
I have written a new play titled The Agonies of Alagarthas. It’s a tragic tale inspired by real-life misfortune that I think you might enjoy. You and the other members of the League of Malevolence are invited to Motherhorn to watch a live performance. Your missing colleague, Skylla, has been my guest for some time, but I’m afraid she has worn out her welcome. In exchange for my generosity, I’m hoping you can take her off my hands.
Until our next meeting,
Endelyn
- My darling Bav,
- You also discovered that the lightning bottles are throwable as weapons, and you collected six of them.
- You found a mask room and freed all of the goblins and other creatures trapped in the masks!
- The twins and bugbear found their way back to the Witchlight Carnival.
- And you decided to go back to Thither to confront Skabatha
